Busy as a Bee

Well, I have just been a little busy bee around here trying to get custom Etsy onesie orders completed and perfected! Four orders, all handpainted, wrapped in a beautiful package with individual tags for each little onesie has taken me atleast a week and a half. I also decided to try my hand at collage and made a little something special for my girlfriend's baby Ava to hang in her room. I like how it turned out.

My cupcake swap date is approaching and I cannot wait to post that cute thing!!! I will wait until my parnter recieves all her goodies.

My husband and I decided to take a drive down a beautiful scenic road here in our town and of course we stumbled upon an antique store/mall. Wow, were the prices perfect! I must share the goodies I found. Then, when we got the car, my hubby told me he needed a tissue and he told me to get one for him in the glove compartment and voila! there was this little something special waiting on me. A picture of a maiden and her love embracing one another. He saw that I had picked it up in the shop and then that little stinker went and bought it for me while I was shopping. Found a beautiful Mary statue that looks sort of like one I bought in Italy on our honeymooon. Love my kitties and put them in the kitchen. I cannot wait to go back to this place!!!

Oh, one more thing, I submitted a little article for a popular blog, 5minutesformom and they accepted it! I was published this week! I'm so super excited!

Finally, it's done...leave me your opinion

This shirt was an extra little something I tried out recently for my Esty shop Many little details to paint, it took quite some time to complete, but over all I'm happy with the creative result. I recently added this moveable tulle brooch so that mommies can wash the shirt with out ruining the delicate little pin. It's also moveable and looks quite cute down at the bottom left of the shirt. Do you love this? I haven't listed yet, wanted some opinions and ideas on price because of all the detail that went into it. I would love comments as to if you like it and how much I might charge. Thanks!

It's only been five years...

Well, it's been almost 5 1/2 years now since our lovely vintage style wedding. I love this picture of us, so many wonderfully bright things to come our way and we didn't even know it then.

Recently I was inspired to start scrapbooking my wedding album again. This lovely artist I found over at flickr, tara anderson, is the source for my most recent scrapbooking inspiration. Her pages are just amazing!

I really thought this page out. I left it to sit out in my craft room for about a week, moving pieces around, until I settled them into one spot and glued. That brooch has been around for a few months now. Found it at a flea market near Mt. Dora and have waited for a great reason to use it. Never thinking I would keep it for myself, but I'm so glad I did. The buttons are a funny story because they were tucked way in the back of an over crowded antique store in Mt. Dora. I fell in love with at least 3 sheets full of buttons. When I went to pay for them at the counter, to my embarassment, I learned that they were around $4-$8 a button, not for the whole sheet! The grand total was around $150 and I said, "no thank you." Because of my flushed face and embarassment, I bought these two.

Now, on to more designing. I will post as I go along and accomplish one page at a time.

Look at those Boots!

I just had to include this on my blog. I LOVE that smile and those boots. Recently, Stink Bone Jones has decided he would like to wear his rain boots around the house. Needless to say, I run around behind him snapping pictures. I've decided to start a little journal, accordian style from Martha Stewart, of him and his boots. One Ripe Peach is going to make me wonderfully cute tags for his little journal. I cannot wait!

And the "A Happy Blog" award goes to....

Sweet Eye Candy Creations, of course! I have posted my personal favorite creations from this wonderful artist, Jennifer Hayslip. Her blog and shop were one of my first delightful discoveries in the blogosphere (is that a word?(. Popped full of color, wonderfully bright pieces, and whimsical creations describe Jenn's Cottage Candy style. Her shadowboxes are among my favorite! I love the vintage pieces mixed in with the bright candy like colors. She certainly has been an artistic inspiration for me!

A Happy Blog Award

Lately and too often, I've been blog cruising. I have to admit this has become quite an additction, searching over all of these amazing blogs. What did we ever do without the Internet? I often think I am wasting time but am I really? I find the most wonderful ideas that inspire me to create more vividly. From my blog explorations I've learned not to be afraid of using too much and in fact I'm using too little in my designs. Over the top is a good thing in the cottage world and so I am pushing myself beyond my comfy zone. I cannot wait to share my very first blog to be awarded the "A Happy Blog" award. I'm sure you can tell from the title that this type of blog inspires and leaves you with a Happy feeling. Check back to see who I've chosen!
