A Very Long Road trip

Our trip seemed so long because Thomas The Train videos played incessantly! However, Thomas the Train songs were better than crying because my two year old was tired of sitting in his car seat. It is certainly not like the old days when my parents lay me down in the back with a pillow and a blanket and I could sleep. Our children have to stay in a car seat strapped tightly in for hours straight. We made it and here are some wonderful picture of my Stink Bone Jones and his daddy! He hasn't been around many cats so this friendly Tom cat just made his day! Is there anything better than an old blue truck with a plant growing out of the back in the hills of Virginia. Most of these were taken in Virginia at a relative's home and some were in Shipshawana, Amish Country, in Indiana. Enjoy!

I'm back from Outer Space

I'm back from my very long road trip that seemed like outer space, I was gone so long. 12 days in all! I haven't been away that long since our honeymoon to Italy 6 years ago. I will definitely post those pictures from our visit to beautiful Virginia and Indiana with Stink Bone Jones in a car for 18 hours there and back. Wow!!

I would love to share my swap photos with you from Jean Knee. She sent me such wonderful things! She has a thing for skeletons and I just adore my little skeleton in his wonderful halloween party hat. His ruffly collar rocks too!

I adore my skeleton head box full of black glitter and sparkle! Jean Knee also makes the cutest cupcake picks! I cannot wait to use these!

Here are more pictures of my wonderful goodies. She made that cute adorable bag with crepe paper! She also ordered the little treat bags and filled them with lovely tags she made and some from my very favorite Etsy shop, one ripe peach

My favorite thing she sent is the reason for the swap. A Halloween Sign that hangs on my mirror! Thanks jean knee, I love it!

I put one of the super cute crepe paper flowers on top of my store bought pumpkin. I painted black polka dots on my pumpkin (an idea from Paula Dean) and voila!

I sent her a bunch of goodies! I do not have pictures of them all but hope she posts them for me. I did manage to get a picture of the sign I sent her. I bought the frame at Hobby Lobby. Decoupodged orange paper to the glass. Painted black polka dots. Glittered the outside black. Then, I glued this little cat from Hobby Lobby to the center. Made a little black tulle ballerina skirt and added orange forget-me- nots to the center. Ordered the spooky tag from my other favorite shop Caramelos and glittered it as well with orange glitter. Added a big sparkly vintage black button to the center and some black velvet bows to the bottom. I really love how it turned out!

Do It Yourself DIY Website

I have found the most WONDERFUL SPLENDID website! Thanks to this do it yourself website at oneprettything.com I cannot seem to quit going there. I am going to start on the tutorial down at the bottom with the beautiful name banners. I've already been to this incredible site Dafont.com full of fonts and was most excited to have found Jane Austen's handwriting! Then, I showed my husband how BEAUTIFUL our son's named looked in Chopin's font, so swirly and elegant. I also showed him what Charlotte Compton would look like in this font too (I want a daughter very badly). He is so used to me, he just nods his head and utters... "yes, uh-huh." So, if you too love to do a million projects at one time, visit this great DIY site.

That's a Stinker if I Ever Did See One

This is my Stink Bone Jones. I am late in posting this but wanted to share these adorable pictures of him. We took an 18 hour road trip from Florida to Pennsylvania to see my ailing grandmother (SBJ's Great Grandmother). This was last month and my parents went with us. It was quite an adventure and one I won't ever forget. Don't you just see a twinkle of mischief in his eyes?

A New Fairy

Recently, I made this little fairy for a friend. I am very pleased with how cute she turned out. I'm even more pleased with the frou frou brooch I made to go with and attached to the package. It looked so cute on the package and then can be worn by the little girl.

More Halloween Treats

I've finally finished a little Halloween Cottage. I just fell in love with this one. There are polka dots on the roof and a spider on the chimney. I'm too impatient to pose the pictures nicely so I'm sorry for the horrible pictures of this little house. I was going to sell it in my Etsy shop but I decided to keep this one for myself.

I've decided to make sparkly frou frou Halloween brooches for little girls to sell in my Etsy shop. This is a friend's beautiful daughter that I used to model my brooches. Hope you like them! They will be available soon.

I'm Cookin' Up Something Good and Scary (well sort of scary)

If purple skeletons scare you well then my cottage creation is scary. This the first of a few that I am going to make this season. Each will be unique in their own way. This is a late birthday present for a Halloween Loving friend of mine. Stay tuned for even more Halloween cottages for friends and My Etsy Shop!

I really have been quite busy. I rescued this mirror from my mother-in-law's house. Immediately I saw the Halloweenesque qualities that this creepy mirror posses ed. I painted in black cat black and glittered it in black glitter from top to bottom. I wish you could see the lovely glitter and sparkle but my camera just didn't do it justice!

Finally, just a VERY SMALL sneak peak at a Halloween Sign Swap I started over at Cottage Style Ning. I'm having a lot of fun with this one! Will be completed when I get my package of goodies from Caramelos This is for Jean Knee, my very hilarious swap partner!
