Marie Antoinette "Let Them Eat Cake" Swap

I recently tried my hand at hosting my very own swap. The theme is about my bff of course, Marie Antoinette. Ten ladies participated, myself included, and it has been so much fun seeing all of the different interpretations of this theme. I am over the moon with my swap partner Jo from Labour of Love. Papier mache is completely new to her which was a complete shock to me because my box is just amazing! I will certainly love this box for many years to come. Jo, you really need to start your very own shop.

The Eiffel Tower is created with paper to coordinate with my box. Jo filled my box with so many goodies! To name a few, a tea cup and saucer, foreign chocolates, tea, buttons, millinery, ribbons, paper, notebooks, Home Companion Magazine, embellishments, lotion, etc....

An heirloom for Christian

Recently, I bought a beautiful sock doll from this shop, chickabiddybabyboutique for a friend of mine expecting her first grandchild. When the little dollie arrived I was just in love! Beautifully sewn together with vintage parts, this little thing was sure to be an heirloom. That got me thinking as to my own stinkbonejones (christian), that he needed one as well.

For those of you that do not know me, I am always thinking of Christian's future wife. I find that sons marry off and do the things their wive's do. Well, I want Christian's wife to be impressed with my wonderful taste (sidenote: he is only about to turn two).

As you can see, this doll is quite unique for a boy and just as wonderful. Currently, this little dolly is nestled quite nicely on Christan's dresser. On occasion I give his doll to him to sleep with. I want his doll to get worn just enough but not too much.

Finally, I finished this little sparkling treat. I find confectioner's sugar to be so wonderfully sweet that I named my little box after the garnishing sugar. Mrs. Anoinette's portrait is covered in sugary glittery and topped with a wonderfully bling bling button. I just love this!

So Excited!

Woke up today to a slew of e-mails, one in particular popped out. A reply from cuteable.com notifiying me that my "handsome" onesie was featured today on their wonderful blog! I was so excited, I felt famous (in my head).

1. I have a ritual when getting dressed up to go somewhere nice and if I don't do it in that certain order it ruins the way I look (or so I think).

2. I've never let my dog or any dog officially lick me. I shiver to think of a dog licking me.

3. I love to eat apples lately but when biting into them it's almost like nails down a chalk board, the texture freaks me out a bit.

4. I'm scared of the dark.

5. I can bend my fingers back on my right hand so far that people get sick looking at it.

Mrs. Antoinette

A lovely customer of mine inspired the making of this sweet little sign. She purchased four Marie Antoinette Fact card sets from my Etsy shop only to have the fourth one eaten by her dog. To repay her for her losses I made this little sign and stuck it in her package with her cards as a surprise. I do hope she enjoys it. Plans are are in the works for something snazzier when time allows me to create. Stay tuned for a lovely little paper mache box I just made that reminds me of confectioner's sugar, that is how sweet it is.
