Christmas 2008

We survived Christmas 2008 Although I didn't think I would. I find it a bit sad that the holidays are so overwhelming as I imagine Christ did not have this in mind. We found our way to church two days before Christmas but not on Christmas. I do have some great memories of my Stink Bone this year. It is the first time EVER that he has opened a present. He didn't even care to open any for his 2nd birthday last year. Each time he opened something he would say, "New truck or new car?"

An old friend just came by the other day to visit from out of town and brought her beautiful daughter Ava. Christian is quite the ladies man and actually gently cupped her face in his hand to turn it so that he could go in for a kiss. What am I going to do with my little Cassanova!?

Here it is!

I so excited to reveal my village. I had to do a bit of fixing up to my village, only a bit though. I added various types of glitter of course. For now, it has found a home in my uncottage style living room because I want to see it everyday. I think next year I will put it in my shabby bedroom. Can you believe I found this entire thing for only $25? It is stamped Japan on the bottom.

I had to add the trees to these two. There were without.

I thought I would share a recent trip from last week to GORGEOUS St. Augustine Florida. We took Stink Bone and I caught a few cute snapshots of him enjoying the road and trolleys. A bit of the building that you see in the background is Flagler College. What a beautiful winter day it was. We then went to the beach and I must say I think the beach is even more lovely in winter than summer. The water takes on a very dark blue, like midnight or saphire. Some relatives from Indianna came with us and they had never seen the ocean in their 60 or more years of life. There is something about going to the ocean with someone that has never seen it before. It is so powerful.

Wait until you see what I bought today!

I just happened to run to the Sallie today (Salvation Army) to get a break from stink bone jones. Found some very cute things. Then ran next door to another thrift shop and WAIT until you see the village I purchased! I was rather surprised at the price of $25 but it is old and very very Cottage Style. The bottom is stamped with Japan. When I post pictures, I would love to hear from you if you've seen these before.

I also sold my wreath! I wanted to keep it for myself but decided to post in in my Etsy shop. To my surprise it sold! I am going to make a few all through out the year so that next year I can keep one, sell some, and gift some.

My New Wreath and Stink Bone Jones

Stink Bone Jones and I recently went to Light Up Ocala. He was more excited about the icing on his cookie than the puppet show in front of him or the entire downtown lit in white lights. Isn't he something else?

Next up is my new Martha Stewart wreath made with all of her papers. It says Merry Christmas in French and I really like how it turned out. Now for sale in my Etsy shop.

Am I gorgeous or What

I recently made this shirt and I am SO EXCITED to list it in my Etsy shop. It's finally done. I added the fringe to the bottom of the shirt and to the bottom of the sleeves for some extra girly girlness. I so need a daughter!!! I don't think Christian would wear this one, ha ha.

This is my new Kitschy Christmas sign. Hope to have a few more different ones to come....

Shop Reopen

I think it has been at least 2 months since I last painted onesies for my shop. When I last opened I was so busy with custom orders that I had to almost shut the shop down to paint them all. I had to take a break. Locally I've been swamped and now that that is slowing down and I've had a nice break, it is time to reopen! November 1st, please check out my new onesie designs. Most of them are pictured here (all but one NEW fairy princess not pictured that I am so excited to debut). I will only be open for one month so that I can concentrate on my gazillion Christmas projects. I LOVE custom orders and welcome them enthusiastically. My popular "Let them eat cake" onesie or toddler shirt comes with a pink and blue detachable frou frou brooch. Enjoy!

This shirt means "I love my mommy" in French of course!

Not sure If I am going to carry this one again or not. It means "Am I gorgeous or what?" This one takes so much time to get the wording perfectly painted. I might try to do this as an iron-on shirt with a border around it. What do you think???
